Construction
Designed by the renowned Chuck Paine, the Bowman 42 is built for comfortable ocean cruising, she is designed to be strong & sea kindly, with a quality of construction that inspires confidence even in the most severe conditions. She has a sparkling performance and yet can still be easily handled by a crew of two.
A solid hull laminate supported by full length longitudinal stringers provides the integral strength of the hull. Hand lay up of the GRP helps to ensure constancy in the laminate. Fully epoxied hull treatment and copper coat anti-fouling from new. Every care has been taken in the selection of the deck fittings to ensure they will withstand the rigours of hard weather that the Bowman 42 is readily capable of handling.
