The 411 is big and it’s beamy at nearly 13ft. It carries a lot of that beam aft, giving a really big aft cabin, and an aft galley. This arrangement with the aft galley frees up space for the main saloon.
The two-cabin has a U-shaped dining suite to starboard and a lounge to port that doubles as the nav station. This is more appealing to the eye and offers more scope for entertaining below as well as relaxing. The nav station on the three-cabin version is on the starboard side near the companionway.
The two-cabin version gets a king-size bed in the aft cabin, which is two metres long and 1.85m wide. There’s also a hanging locker, shelving on the hull sides and seat forward of the hanging locker. There is ample ventilation, with opening ports to the cockpit and hatches. There are also fixed ports in the hull for light and to watch the world go by.
The forward cabin is light and roomy with another two-metre berth, lockers, a settee, a cabinet and ample shelving. The forward head is in the forepeak and has a manual head with an optional holding tank, vanity unit, shower and accessories.
The dayhead is to port of the companionway and also has a manual head, shower and vanity.
The finish is in cherrywood and the benchtops are a serviceable laminex with the overall effect being a cosy interior with plenty of light.
One of the things that a cruiser of this size needs is storage – and plenty of it. The 411 offers ample storage all around the boat. The two-cabin 411 has a huge storage locker on the starboard side of the cockpit. It’s big enough to stow a deflated rubber duck and small engine, water toys, fenders, and extra anchor. All at once.
Manufacturer Provided Description
The Beneteau 411, designed by the renowned Groupe Finot, exemplifies a true marriage of performance and beauty. With the bulb / fin keel, maximum stability and efficiency on all points of sail are achieved by her low center of gravity. The standard in-mast furling main and roller furling genoa provide efficiency and true ease of handling. The large cockpit with teak inlay seats is designed for maximum comfort and the pedestal console allows ample space to install electronics. There is also a dual-leaf cockpit table containing a large molded storage area and plenty of space to stow gear in the large cockpit lockers. The extra-wide aft swim platform and ladder, walk-through transom, and standard cockpit shower makes swimming easy and convenient. Both the two- and three-cabin layouts have roomy companionways, large cabins, and plenty of storage throughout, all accented with richly detailed cabinetry. Specially designed for serious cruising, the 411 nav station has a large chart table with additional locker storage underneath, as well as ample space for installing electronics. The deluxe forward owner's stateroom features a generous double berth and an upholstered port settee that is perfect for reading or relaxing. There is also private access to the spacious forward head with sink and shower unit. The galley is beautifully appointed with pressure laminate countertops, double stainless sinks, and loads of storage. The two-compartment refrigerator / freezer has top and side access, and the two-burner propane stove with oven will accommodate every culinary need.
