Accommodations
MERLIN has berths for six in three private staterooms, crew cabin forward and additional berths in the main salon. The interior is primarily original though in exceptional condition. The teak bulkheads are all well varnished. The original teak veneer on the cabin sole has been replaced with 1/4" teak and white pine, in the original Nautor style. All stained veneer on doors and lockers have been replaced with new. The bunk cushions and upholstery were replaced in 2010, the hatches replaced in 2001 and the galley and entertainment systems have been consistently upgraded.
The main salon has a large U-shaped dinette to starboard, surrounding a large, high gloss drop-leaf table with lighted bookshelves outboard. To port is a large settee with pilot berth outboard. Forward of the settee and berth is an end table, wine/spirits storage and locker that houses the DVD player and LCD TV screen.
The U-shaped galley is aft of the salon to port and has excellent natural light and ventilation from the adjacent companionway. The galley area includes two deep stainless sinks, large Sea Frost refrigeration and freezer(2000), a Broadwater 4-burner propane stove (2004), custom mug and spice racks, new counter tops (2008), and an abundance of counter and storage space.
The navigation station is to starboard of the companionway, with a large sit-down navigator's desk, comfortable seating, offshore gate, full Garmin and B&G navigation instrumentation, updated ICOM communications equipment and the AC/DC breaker panels.
The owner's cabin is aft of the navigation station and a large foul weather locker. It has a settee bench outboard at its entrance. The aft, master cabin has a large single berth to starboard and a cozy, double berth to port, with a settee in between. The cabin has a separate companionway to the aft steering cockpit, stowage in drawers and lockers, a private head with stainless sink, vanity top lockers and a shower.
Forward of the salon to port is a walk through guest cabin with a large single berth, sail stowage below, hanging locker, bureau and opening hatch to the mid-deck area. Forward of this cabin is a stowage area with two hanging lockers. Across to starboard is a second guest cabin with over/under berths, hanging lockers, drawers and an opening hatch. This cabin has its own entrance to the forward guest/crew head. The head has a second entrance for day use and also has a stainless sink, vanity, lockers and a shower.
Both heads are equipped with Sealand Vacuflush heads installed in 2004 and serviced since then.
All mattresses and upholstery were new in 2004.
