This Webbers Cove is one of two that we've sold here at Swiftsure Yachts and they are such cool boats. The original design came from the office of Spencer Lincoln and most were made into working boats for the Maine fisheries. The Webbers Cove (WEBCO) yard has built many, many boats for the US Navy and professional lobstermen. But Old Glory was built as a pleasure boat from the beginning.
The current owner has lovingly upgraded and hand crafted virtually all of the systems aboard. Check out the custom lights in the cabin and the clever seats in the cockpit and the awesome fuel polishing system.
This downeast style boat has a wonderful motion, enough power to cruise the pacific northwest and the safety and comfort of a big cockpit just begging for the family dog. She even has a bow thruster to make the docking easier.
If you are looking for a well cared for vintage cruiser in a very manageable size that everybody will ask you about, come take a look at Old Glory, she is a joy to be aboard.
OLD GLORY is located in a private marina on Bainbridge Island. To arrange a showing please call our Bainbridge agent Bob Schoonmaker 206-818-7394 or email@example.com.
All vessels sold through Swiftsure Yachts are sold through the Seattle office. Appropriate taxes and fees apply.
OLD GLORY was built in Blue Hill Maine on a lobster boat hull. However, she was built to be a yacht from the beginning. The current owners are the fourth and they've owned her for more than ten years, first in Michigan and then in Oregon.
The current captain is a retired Ford Motor Company automotive engineer, and it shows throughout the vessel. There are so many brilliantly designed solutions that you've got to see them to appreciate the attention to detail. Each system has detailed diagrams and instructions and is printed into a binder kept aboard.
When you step aboard (at the side) Old Glory she feels much bigger than 34 feet. As you'd expect, the cockpit is large for handling fishing gear. But there is a full width bench at the back that converts to a double bed. With the full cockpit enclosure, this creates a wonderful place to sleep in the summer. There are beautiful stairs that can be moved from side to side depending on which side you've docked. And seats that are protected by the cabin top that fold up to reveal custom ice boxes, with drains! They even have levers that fold up to keep the seat up while you are loading them.
Forward of the cockpit and up a 3 inch step is the pilothouse. There are seats that are configured so that the engine hatch can be raised without removing the seats. They are sturdy, secure and give great visibility. The helm is to starboard with a full suite of navigation equipment. There is a chartplotter, VHF, Radar and plenty of gauges. Custom storage places abound.
Opening the cabin door you have two steps down to the galley, head and sleeping berths. There is ample storage, opening bronze ports and a big hatch above. The electrical breakers are modern and well labelled as is everything else aboard. There is a 12vdc/110vac fridge below the counter and a microwave that runs off the inverter. There is an enclosed head with a Groco toilet.
The cabin is configured for maximum floor space and comfort in that there are two single berths with cabinets outboard and between. This makes the cabin feel larger and it's easy to move around in. The head is generous for a vessel of this size. There is a hanging locker forward of the berths and accessed by doors on either side of the centerline drawers.
Old Glory is a very tidy vessel that is a joy to be aboard. She is large enough not to get knocked around by a chop, but very easy for a single person to handle.
She'll cruise all day long at 9 kts burning < 8 gph and tops out at 12.5. You can cover a lot of Puget Sound in a boat this size and have a blast doing it.
