The classic mahogany power boat M/Y Hjorten has been carefully maintained and restored throughout the years. It has been tastefully and contemporarily upgraded within the restrictions of MYS, Motor Yacht Society. All comforts that is to be expected in a private yacht from the 1930´s are found onboard.
Heating and defroster from a diesel heater, toilet and shower with hot water, spacious galley with refrigerator, oven and stove with triple burners.
The boat is equipped with a contemporary VHF from SAILOR, an older plotter from Garmin and an autopilot with remote control.
Apart from this all electricity is redone and a modern battery charger from Victron is fitted, together with a shore power connection. After the hull extension, a stern camera was installed to improve the visibility aft.
Due to the hull extension Hjorten has a spacious aft pit with room for more than 8 seated. The hull design is related to the Norwegian Royal yacht "Stiernen".
The aft cabin, owners cabin, has a double birth and a single bunk.
The cabin leads to the lavatory and a closet in the salon. Two long couches, that both can be made into two single bunks, is places along the hull, surrounding a large table. The red velvet upholstery is contemporary for a private power yacht from the early world war two era.
Forward of the salon is the wheelhouse, where the roomy feel can be improved further by removing the convertible canvas top.
The well insulated engine hatches entail a low noise environment even in speeds exceeding 20 knots.
The galley, with hot and cold fresh water and sea water pump is forward of the wheelhouse. The oven and stove together with refrigerator and, for the boat type, large cooking spaces creates a practical and functioning kitchen.
In the bow is the forepeak with two narrow full length bunks.
Nine persons can be accommodated onboard Hjorten but considerably more can be seated onboard.
The length and width of the boat ensures a seaworthy handling. Hjorten behaves well in speeds exceeding 20 knots, but glides well in lower cruising speeds.
This mahogany classic provides a noble way to cruise the archipelago and implement longer journeys.
Throughout the years the current owner has driven the boat to both Norway, Denmark, Germany and Finland, but has mainly been seen in the archipelago of Stockholm or on the Swedish west coast.
The boat is currently located indoors at Orust, on the Swedish west coast.
