Well this is something rather different from the usual wide beam barges I've seen. VERY high specification, with much design and fit-out input from her knowledgeable owners. They ran many commercial offshore craft for years and know what matters, so as a result, when they put together the specification for this superb wide beam barge as a "bolt hole", they specified the best in engineering terms as well as internal comfort. Big generator from Kohler 9KVA, big hydraulic take off to run bow and stern thruster, full reverse cycle air conditioning as well as diesel fired wet boiler heating system, quality oak fit out, with drop down flat screen TVs (2), SATELITE DOMES FOR BOTH, with 4G internet connection antenna and good broadband wifi around boat, washing machine, separate drier, electric chair, fridge freezer, combi Neff microwave, as well as five burner gas hob, etc. Twin heads, power shower in en suite wet room forward, Bose wireless sound systems, LED lighting, touch screen voltage control board, FULL hydraulic system, with remote controls, to raise and drop wheelhouse structure to drop air draught and superbly appointed throughout. Gorgeous warm feel to upholstery, carpets (oak floor in Galley/ Diner). She really is a nice piece of work from the barge builders, and it is only available due to an unfortunate change in circumstance for the Owners. If you were looking at a new build and don’t want the two year wait (!!) or are considering a recent used wide beam barge or a live aboard for a change of pace of life this has to be amazing value for what she offers. Please do watch the VIDEOWALKS. Full details and photos coming soon. A superb “flat” right in middle of London or Paris? At a fraction of the cost and rather more fun! She will make around 9+ knots max but is designed to sit at 4-6 knots all day long and has a spare propeller stowed with spare belts, filters, etc. Her 12'9" beam will allow her through most of North Europe and her clever low air draught at the touch of a button (well you do have to drop window frames etc first!!) with hydraulics is excellent. She has limited navigational aids as would rarely go to sea but they can cross the Channel in decent weather quite comfortably. She has Log, echosounder, DSC/VHF, Nav lights, Wipers horn, Engine start Battery Vetus AGM 100 amp/h, Services and inverter, Vetus AGM, 6x 140 Amp/h, Generator battery, Vetus AGM 100 amp, 2 x Alternators 105 amp, Vetus inverter charger 220 amp system, Inverter Vetus Quattro 5000 watts, generator Kohler 9EFKOZD 9 KW, Huge LED Flat screen TV in Saloon with Satellite system, and smaller version in master cabin, with BOSE remote system as well. Heating is Kabola Diesel fired boiler, KB 40, Gas x 2 x 13KG Propane bottles, built in double gas oven, Combi - Microwave, five burner Belling gas hob, Domestic Fridge freezer, Washing machine and Tumble drier, full compliment of fenders, warps, boat hook, wash kit, shore power lead engine spares, etc.
Wide Beam Barges are exempt from VAT if 60+ foot in length, and she was built with this in mind (a recent ruling).
