Yachting Press Remarks:

Dixon has designed every type of sailboat through his illustrious career from small one designs to maxi sailing yachts and the boats are always stylish, good at sea and fast. The Saturn 48 is no exception…

The 48’s deck layout was designed for shorthanded or even singlehanded sailing, since more cruising boats are crewed by couples and often there is only one person on deck during a watch… The cockpit itself is large enough for eight adults to sit comfortably and with the teak table unfolded you can accommodate six for a meal…

The Saturn 48 was a pleasure to sail and handled very well. It has the displacement to give you a solid, comfortable ride, yet the narrow entry forward and the long waterline to produce a boat that will consistently sail well and fast…

Today, Taiwan boat builders are some of the most experienced experts in the world. Certainly, Ta Yang, with hundreds of boats out there sailing all over the world, has a well-earned reputation for building boats of high quality and fine finish...

“The craftsmanship and quality that has been put into the new Saturn 48 reflects the designer and builder’s aim to create a modern performance cruiser that is up to the rigors of making offshore passages and blue water sailing about the world. They have achieved this with room to spare.”

Blue Water Sailing Magazine – June 2014

Builder’s Comments:

Saturn Yachts was created to provide discerning sailors with a boat that would be comfortable, fast and seaworthy. The boat would feature a center cockpit and would be easy to manage, yet spacious enough to live aboard. While this idea wasn’t new, it was clear that a design in keeping with modern advancements was needed. Her clever design offers delightful sailing and a voluminous interior. A well struck balance in a class of yachts that far too often settle. The Saturn 48 is the cruising yacht of today.

Crafted to a standard of excellence and developed to move the semi-custom class forward, the Saturn 48 is a welcome addition. This fine yacht can be built as an owner desires. However she was so carefully considered at inception that most owners will find very little to change or add to the amazing Saturn 48.

The Saturn 48, can be enjoyed by people just starting on their sailing journey, or optimized by seasoned sailors. The versatility of this centre-cockpit cruising yacht is a welcome addition to the sailing community.

Solid hand-laid hulls, fore and aft watertight bulkheads, built in cabinetry, full thickness soles, inch and a quarter stainless rails with blended welds, highest quality sound insulation and Lewmar hardware are some of Saturn Yachts standards.

The Saturn 48 moves easily through calm seas and because of her entry and buoyancy aft she is powerful when forced to deal with heavier conditions. The performance of this cruising yacht reminds us why this new design has been welcomed and well received.

The Saturn 48 is the most well developed yacht in this class and deserves her spot at the top. The quality of build and the attention to detail during conception are both immediately apparent when boarding a Saturn.

The exclusive Saturn 48 has been designed by Bill Dixon, the legendary boat builder. Built in Taiwan the Saturn 48 is a high quality blue water cruising yacht, designed for comfort, luxury and ultimate sailing experience.

The Saturn 48 is a perfect demonstration of the ultimate sailing vessel, designed by a team who really understand long distance sailing
