COCOS – Aqua-Star 38
Cocos is a totally unique 38’ after cockpit Aquastar, reluctantly offered for sale. Launched in July 2013, she is the ultimate cruising boat for two people. She has been meticulously designed and built to provide luxury and comfort. The hull and superstructure were supplied by Aquastar and she was fitted out by Island Marine Craft (IMC), who, originally built the Channel Island 32s. Designed with a raked forward windscreen that reduces glare, increases vision and gives and extra metre of living accommodation.
Fitted with twin Yanmar 6LP2 315HP/3800rpm diesel engines, this gives her a cruising speed of 20knts and top speed of 26knts. 50 hour full service completed in Sept 2014. The shafts are fitted with Spur rope cutters. She is fitted with a 6Kw generator and Eberspacher D4W cabin heating and windscreen demisters, also Sleipner SE80 Bow thruster and Sleipner SE60 Stern thrusters. Pressurised hot and cold water system with cockpit deck wash. Shore power, 8 Batteries plus Mastervolt chargemaster 12/50, electric windlass, holding tank with electric pump out, LED lighting throughout and a Sea Fire FD 225 FM-200 automatic fire extinguisher system in the engine compartment.
The navigation equipment is all Raymarine except for the Icom IC-423 VHF DSC marine radio and consists of an e165 hybrid multifunction display/plotter, 4Kw 18” HD colour radar, CCTV on stern, SPX-30 autopilot, i70 multifunction display, AIS650 Class B Transceiver and a separate XS active radar reflector.
The large and light aft cabin features a king size island berth, with easy access storage underneath and extensive lockers including a hanging locker, a separate, full size, shower enclosure, with thermostatic control to ensure cruising in the utmost comfort. In the heads is a Jabsco deluxe freshwater electric toilet, heated towel rail and matching Corian worktop.
The extended wheelhouse has two KAB suspension seats, L shaped seating for 4 or more with storage underneath, teak dining table, large stainless steel sunroof hatch with blackout blind. The galley opposite has a Waeco SS 80L fridge, Smeg 2 ring induction hob, Smeg SS microwave/combination oven and a SS sink integrated into the Corian worktop with integral draining board. Lockers and drawers with pull out SS baskets.
Externally there is teak decking in the cockpit, a Smeg electric BBQ, cockpit lights Stainless Steel windows throughout with integral fly screens, SS and glass door and a custom SS mast. There is a solid GRP transom gate, heavy duty yacht leg hull brackets and a spacious lockable lazarette with plenty of storage space. There is a full Navy Blue cockpit canopy with matching windscreen and side window covers. Stainless steel 20Kg anchor, twin SS bow rollers, SS bow plate and SS ensign staff. Keel shoe, heavy duty D fendering 2 x fire extinguishers and a Plastimo 4 man liferaft.
