She is ready to go cruising and will satisfy a rigorous survey. HONAH LEE is a 2008 Grand Banks Eastbay 45SX, a beautifully finished, two stateroom boat easily able to cruise at 25 knots with her Caterpillar C-9 ACERT engines. This very seaworthy deep-V yacht was designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates and built by Grand Banks. She has the optional layout with the galley up,and a two stateroom, two head arrangement forward. From the cockpit the salon is entered through a Dutch door, the clear top half of which opens separately. The galley is located in the port aft corner of the cabin where a large power window drops, opening the galley to the cockpit, and serves as a convenient pass-through for food and drinks. The helm is forward and to starboard and enjoys 360 degree visibility. Across from the helm an L-shaped, raised settee is arranged to allow guests the same visibility as the helmsman, and this area also converts quickly to a berthing area for two. The overhead features a power sun roof with an OceanAire shade, and at the push of a button the forward center windshield opens as well, so the whole cabin can be opened to the great outdoors. The berthing accommodations are four steps down and forward of the helm, and throughout ports, hatches and dorade ventilators offer exceptional air flow when desired. The master cabin is fully forward, has an en suite head and, with its center queen, is just as large as the master on a Grand Banks 47. The guest cabin with its twin berths is just aft on the housed . On deck the hardware is all heavy duty, highly polished stainless steel. Substantial hand rails and wide side decks make going forward easy and safe. This is a wonderful family boat easily operated by two people.

The 45 Eastbay SX is a full-featured Downeast cruiser that complements assertive performance with stylish grace. The PILOTHOUSE is entered through an acrylic/teak Dutch door from the cockpit. The space is very open and attractive with interior teak joiner work finished in a satin rubbed effect. An elegant teak and holly sole is found throughout the boat. Visibility is fabulous, and sitting at the Stidd helm seat, the captain has an unobstructed 360 degree view. The helm is forward to starboard and the electronics and all of the other controls are easily within reach. HONORA LEE is very well equipped, with two Garmin 5212 Plotters, Garmin Radar, Simrad auto pilot and much more. Overhead is a large power sun roof with an OceanAire shade system. A forward center windshield, a large window aft, and the sun roof all open and close at the touch of a button. There are also large sliding windows to either side. Across from the helm is a large L-shaped settee upholstered in cream-colored ultrasuede. Across from the settee, aft of the Stidd helm seat, a teak cabinet houses a 23 inch Flat Screen TV on a lift, an FM Stereo, DVD player, and a KVH Satellite Receiver System. Aft on the port side is the galley – located in the ideal spot for both entertaining and dining. When entertaining, a large power window opens the galley to the cockpit, and creates a convenient pass through for food and drinks. The countertops are an attractive black Silestone in the galley as well as the work station across on the starboard side. The cabinetry houses an under counter DC refrigerator and a DC freezer, as well as three drawers for dish storage, etc. Cooking is accomplished with a sharp convection/microwave oven and a Seaward ceramic, three burner cook top. The Galley has great general storage, visibility, and access directly to the cockpit. The pilothouse is very inviting, and with the sun roof and windows open, it's better than being outside.
Forward, and four steps down, brings you to the master, guest stateroom and heads. In addition to these two cabins a hi-lo settee table in the pilothouse converts into a supplementary berth for two. Cabin soles are all teak and holly. The Grand Banks joinery work is beautiful, and doors are all four panel teak with radiused tops. The overhead has white upholstered panels with well grouped halogen lighting. Each cabin enjoys a high level of ventilation and natural lighting with a combination of overhead hatches and opening ports, augmented with dorade ventilation.
Starting forward, the MASTER STATEROOM has a center queen berth with two large drawers underneath. To starboard is a cedar-lined hanging locker, a storage cabinet, and drawer. A 19 inch Sharp HD flat screen TV with built in DVD player mounted on a extension/swivel arm above. To port are more cabinets and access to the en suite bathroom. A large hatch with OceanAir shade/screen is above and two opening window ports provide plenty of fresh air and natural light.
The MASTER’S EN-SUITE HEAD is a very inviting space with its own overhead hatch and an opening port. An acrylic shower enclosure has a teak grate and teak bench. The head is an odor-free electric fresh water VacuFlush. Forward of the head is an attractive vanity with a Silestone counter with underhung white ceramic sink, and a cabinet below. There is a cabinet outboard over the head and fiddled shelves above the vanity as well as a swing-out cosmetic mirror. The forward bulkhead has a mirrored surface and there is a towel rack on the adjacent door.
The GUEST CABIN is extremely comfortable and is entered from the central companionway through a lovely four panel, radiused top teak door. It is the best side cabin so far encountered in a 45’ boat. Custom shams and bedspreads through out the boat are very attractive. There are twin single beds with a teak cabinet between. Overhead panels are upholstered and have nicely grouped halogen lighting. A small overhead hatch and two opening stainless steel ports help provide natural light and ventilation. Forward of the outboard bunk is a cedar hanging locker, and a full length, beveled mirror is mounted on the forward bulkhead. The sole is teak and holly. Just across the companionway is the guest bathroom.
The GUEST/DAY HEAD is located on the portside across from the guest stateroom, and conveniently also serves as a day head. The countertop is black Silestone with an under counter white ceramic sink. The bulkheads and overhead are finished in an off white laminate. This is a wet head and there is a teak grate on the floor and a surround curtain to accommodate the shower. Good storage can be found under the vanity, and there is a linen locker in the aft bulkhead which is next to a Splendide combo washer/dryer. There is a Vacuflush toilet and an opening port light which provides natural light and ventilation.
With its ready access to the galley and salon, the spacious cockpit is bound to be one of the chief gathering areas on the boat. The ice maker and Glendinning cablemaster are opportunely located here. Storage lockers and a generous, accessible lazarette make this accommodating living area a functional one as well. Security and ease of movement forward along the wide side decks makes travel to the foredeck unintimidating under any conditions. A substantial anchor roller and heavy duty windlass makes anchoring easy and fun. Convenient storage lockers are in deck to either side of the windlass allows for ample storage for fenders and dock lines. Also equipped in the port locker is an anchor wash down spigot. Footing is very sure over all the decks with their molded-in non skid.
The engine room occupies an exceptionally large space for this size boat with a good 5 ft. of headroom. Great care was taken in the layout of the equipment with an eye for access and service. As well, all switches and valves are well labeled for both comprehension of function and safety in an emergency.
