Solid GRP construction to hull with integral liner with a deep blue hull and white topsides. Balsa sandwich construction decks provide insulation and stiffness and are overlaid with teak for a beautiful finish and functional non slip surface.
Stainless steel pull-pit and push-pit linked by twin guard wires provide security on deck as well as mountings for an outboard and life buoy. Davits house the tender and there is a life raft stored on the foredeck. There is also a swinging lift arm for moving the outboard motor to and from the tender when required.
Twin wheels control the semi balanced spade rudder while 2 pairs of winches take care of the rope-work. The mainsheet winch and both genoa sheet winches are electric.
The interior is a mix of lustrous high quality wood combined with white interior mouldings and galley worktops which gives a sense of warmth and light.
Labasheeda is powered by a 100hp Yanmar diesel engine driving a 3 bladed Max Fold folding propeller. The bow thruster is a great aid to docking and close quarter manoeuvring in a boat of this size.
A bank of 4 batteries charged by engine or battery charger provide engine start and domestic power. These were replaced 4 years ago. The engine has 2 alternators to increase charging capacity. There is also a flexible solar panel which can be used to charge the batteries.
The Oceanis 473 is a fractional rigged Bermudan Sloop. She is unusual for a modern production yacht in the she has a keel stepped mast. She has triple spreaders and twin back-stays with tension adjuster. The alloy mast and spars are uprated with a slightly taller mast than standard and a heavier duty boom. Standing rigging is stainless steel. The furling system has also been uprated with a Pro-Furl system.
All sails are the originals purchased with the boat and are constructed of Mylar sandwich by Incidence in France.
Labasheeda provides fabulous accommodation, sleeping 9 adults in three double cabins plus one large double and one single saloon berth. The combination of rich wood and white roof and worktops make the interior warm and inviting while being light and airy. Windows in the coach-roof and hull let in plenty of natural light. and afford views whether sitting or standing.
The galley is equipped with a 2 burner gas hob and grill, microwave oven, stainless steel sink, pressurised hot and cold water, icebox and fridge and has plenty of storage and work space.
There are 2 heads with sea toilets and holding tanks and showers. One head is en-suite to the fore-cabin.
Cabin heating is by diesel fuelled system and electric fan heater.
