This particular 37 Grand Mistral has been lightly used this year by her current owner, she has been regularly serviced including drives this year, new flexi teak decking, new Eberspacher heating and new Raymarine HD GPS and chart plotter.
Motor Boats Monthly voted this version the UK’s Best Drivers Boat in June 2005, when Steve Curtis tested her against four other similar boats and commented “the Windy’s combination of good sea keeping, entertaining handling and fine performance earns it the accolade of Britain’s best driver’s boat.”
Windy are a product of traditional craftsmanship, enhanced with the aid of modern technology. The latest technological innovation is the Wintec hull concept, which gives improved performance, greater strength and reduced noise throughout the vessel.
The hull is reinforced with advanced multi axial glass fibre matting and Divinycell core. This allows a reduction in the boats weight of up to 20% whilst offering noticeably improved stability.
All the Windy models are CE-labelled. This means that Windy meets all the requirements laid down for quality control documentation and product liability within the EU. In the process of obtaining approval, the company has also introduced new methodologies, construction principles and more advanced construction production equipment, resulting in more cost – effective and quality oriented processes in – house. But above all, Windy is a “Boat Builder” and not a manufacturer of boats, a philosophy, which characterizes their production staff and all those within their distribution network.
2 x Volvo Penta KAD44 2 x 260hp duo prop; c. 1,050 hours.
The engine has common rail fuel injection system, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger, compressor, and aftercooler. The interaction of these, the large swept volume, and the EVC system results in exceptional diesel performance combined with low emissions. The engine is extremely compact for its high output.
EVC - Electronic Vessel Control - is Volvo Penta's common electronic platform. Based on the same CAN-bus technology used in ships, planes and cars, EVC gives total integration. All information is distributed on one CAN-bus backbone. EVC acts as your personal engineer, constantly supervising all important functions and taking precautionary measures if anything is amiss.
