Hunter Marine's 380 is an evolutionary boat that comes from innovation and consumer input. Comfort, convenience, and livability is what the Hunter 380 is all about. Abundant natural light streams in from the Hunter signature windshield and the many fixed and screened ports - not to mention the multiple overhead hatches which also bring in a tremendous amount of fresh air. At anchor or at the dock, the placement of the ports assure great ventilation, and reverse cycle air and heat are an optional choice for cruising comfort. Entertaining or handling the family is easy with the enlarged salon complete with a convertible dinette and facing settee. Storage is plentiful, as is electronic space at the integrated nav station. A Corian covered, full-service galley comes complete - right down to the dishware - and any chef will adore the side-by-side ice boxes and top-loading trash bin set each side of the double basin, stainless sink. The private forward stateroom includes an en suite vanity with sink and storage as well as plenty of hanging locker space and drawer storage. Aft, there is a master stateroom with a huge queen berth and more storage. Privacy is enhanced by the dual access head that offers a Corian covered vanity, and electric marine head and shower stall all wrapped in a complete fiberglass shell for easy cleaning and maintenance. On deck, the cockpit is designed for the comfort of the skipper and crew - not for the ease of the builder. By bringing the coaming out to the gunners, Hunter has increased the overall space to incredible proportions - including seating for eight. A custom console with folding table leaves is perfect for those al fresco meals.
As you enter this boat you have to remind yourself that she is only 38' long. The roomy interior starts in the bow with V berth forward with it's own sink, large hanging locker and an opening pass thru to the main salon; Which gives this space a very bright and open feeling.
Moving aft you have a large settee on the port side complete with a fold down snack table that divides the settee into two chairs. On the starboard side is a large U-shaped dinette with a beautiful high-gloss drop-leaf dining table that must be seen to be believed. All of the seating is upholstered in a very nautical navy blue print fabric with an abundance of storage above and behind all areas.
The huge galley is directly aft of the dinette area on the starboard side. It is bright and airy with large open work areas covered in Corian and plenty of storage to satisfy the most demanding of cooks. This galley would be great for entertaining large groups when necessary.
Directly opposite on the port side you will find an aft facing nav station. This area contains all of the controls for both the 120 Volt shore service as well as the 12 Volt system, breaker panel and battery switches. There is also a large chart table with an area above containing the VHF, Nav instruments and monitoring systems all in close proximity to the companionway.
From this point you have 3 choices going aft; one would be to head up and out to the cockpit, second to go port where you can enter the head or thirdly, to go starboard where you can proceed through the galley into the aft cabin. Located below the companionway ladder is a cover that lifts up to access the engine. This is a very simple to operate system which allows the owner full access to all sides of the engine.
Moving aft into the very spacious head you will find the sink area with Corian counter tops and lots of storage below. Going aft you are now in the toilet/stall shower area. This space is very generious in size and is made of molded fiberglass providing the owner a very easy area to keep clean. No need to turn around, this is a walk thru head.
Going aft from the head you are now in the owners stateroom, from its queen size berth, port side seat and storage everywhere you would be hard pressed to find a nicer stateroom on any aft cockpit 38 foot boat. She is also beautifully finished in satin finished teak.
The extremely bright and spacious galley make cooking aboard a pleasurable experience. From the all stainless steel 3 burner stove and oven, huge refrigerator and separate freezer to the deep double stainless sinks surrounded by a Corian countertops and continuous teak fiddles this a real working galley. To complete this space is a built-in microwave, waste basket and dish rack that give you all the conveniences of home. Also, lots of storage for those longer trips.
