Probably the finest yacht ever designed in her class, "Vaporeyes" is hull #58-20 of this widely respected West-Bay SonShip model. With its timeless design, quality of build materials and equipment used by the builder, she is a very sought after vessel for the discerning Yachtsman.
Originally designed by Howard Apollonio and built by Ben Vermeulen & Co. with propeller pockets she draws less water (4'5") than the standard West-Bay 58. The design, performance and efficiency of this yacht is enhanced by its reduced shaft angle, sharply raked stem, slightly rounded transom and hard chines.
She is currently on her second owner, who has incurred substantial expenses on updates and repairs (documented), including US$35K spent on her engines in 2009 (service report available), a freedom lift with 800 lb capacity, new Bimini, interior furnishings, ice-maker, Davit quick lift rated for 1500 lb, new Raymarine electronics, and a Yacht Controller System among other upgrades.
Upon entering the Salon from the large cockpit aft, one is immediately impressed by the spaciousness and headroom (6'4") of this area. The riff cut, white oak-wood interior shows off the excellent joinery work of the builder and provides a light, open and airy feel to the naturally well lit salon. A wet bar with Corian countertop, sink and ice maker is just forward to starboard with TV and Apple TV located across the Salon to port.
Forward and up to 2 steps from the Salon there is an oak-wood stairway leading up to the fly-bridge, upper helm station and deck. A Corian topped dinette is just forward on the starboard side and the large, workable, U-shaped galley is opposite and across to port.
Forward of the Galley/ Dinette is the Pilothouse/ Lower Helm station with port and starboard side doors leading out to the walk around decks. a wide stairway leads down and forward from the Pilothouse to the Master's stateroom with head en-suite, VIP Guest Stateroom, 3rd Stateroom and shared guest's head with shower.
She was on the hard last Spring for fiberglass repair on her upper deck, maintenance and service work, bottom paint and zincs. Her current moorage slip is close to the gate and transferable with purchase located in beautiful Coal Harbour West Bayshore. The Owner wants it sold and will consider all reasonable offers.
