Originally launched in 1983, the Oyster 435 was to become our most popular model until the 56 was launched in the late 1990s. The 435 is a Holman and Pye design, and is characteristically tough, sea kindly and weatherly. Engineered and constructed for crossing oceans, the 435 has a tough single skin hull construction, with stiffness provided by massive ribs and stringers, eliminating the need for a foam or balsa core. Her keel is encapsulated, her rudder protected by a full-length rudder skeg, and her mast is keel stepped. The interior layouts generally offered either two or three cabins, although there were a great number of variations. Her handcrafted joinery is as hardwearing as it is seamanlike.
His And Hers is a late model 435, with the popular ‘island' double berth in the owner’s stateroom. She is has been set up for short handed sailing with in-boom furling to her mainsail and furling genoa and staysail. Unusually for a 435, her deck is teak free, which eliminates future replacement costs. Sleeping up to five in three cabins, His And Hers has two head/shower compartments so owners and guests enjoy privacy on longer trips. The joinery is in teak, which provides a tough and traditional feel below decks. This is a great opportunity to acquire a proven bluewater cruiser with an immaculate pedigree. His And Hers is ready to go sailing!
