A great example of the well known Wilbur 34 Downeast cruiser, Rhythm 'N' Blue includes features in her equipment and layout that are unsurpassed in any other Wilbur 34's available. Her cosmetic condition is spectacular, and her owners, retired from being yacht captain and crew, maintain Rhythm 'N' Blue to their very high standards daily.
Since being purchased by the current owners in the Fall of 2010, Rhythm 'N' Blue received a complete deck and superstructure re-fit which included a complete AwlGrip finish with tan non-skid areas. All woodwork was stripped and finished in gloss varnish, New teak and holly cabin sole in the galley, and systems throughout were checked over extensively. Electronics have been updated recently to include a Raymarine E120 Radar / Chartplotter.
New to the market, and in turn-key ready to cruise condition.
The cabin arrangement of Rhythm & Blue is very open and offers a feeling of spaciousness. The deckhouse door is amidships, thus allowing comfortable settees each side for relaxing and entertaining. A removable dining table easily accommodates 8. The lower cabin is open to the deckhouse, and the galley has the best of both worlds -- the storage and space of a galley down, and the openness of a galley up arrangement. Adding to this spacious feel is the "Herreshoff" treatment of white bulkheads with varnished teak trim. In 2011 the teak and holly cabin sole was replaced and is like new.
Starting forward, there are wide v-berths that are easy to enter, and a filler cushion allows the berths to become a double. There are drawers and lockers underneath the berths. Two opening ports and an overhead hatch provide great ventilation, and a curtain provides privacy to the cabin.
Aft, to port, is the large and spacious galley. A 3 burner propane stove with an oven is forward, followed by a large single SS sink served by a hot and cold pressure water faucet. An under the counter refrigerator with a freezer is aft. There are shelves above the counter and storage sections outboard providing abundant space for dishes and cooking gear. Also, under the counter are 3 large drawers and more lockers.
To Starboard, opposite the galley, is the head area. A separate shower section is forward and enclosed with a curtain. Aft is the marine toilet and a vanity and sink are mid-ships.
The cabin has 6 opening ports with screens and an overhead hatch with a shade and screen for excellent ventilation.
Going up three steps brings you for the deckhouse area. This section of the vessel was re-configured early in her life by the well known Hodgdon Yachts of East Boothbay. They beautifully created helm and mate seats (new fabrics 2016) with convenient storage areas, and settees that conveniently become single berths. There is a dining table that mounts on the sole that serve as many as 8 when necessary.

Rhythm & Blue has had good care over her years and has received many upgrades. Early in her life, Hodgdon Yachts of East Boothbay, ME re-configured the Deckhouse and added another level of high joinerwork to the vessel Her hull was Awl-Grip painted Royal Blue about 10 years ago and is still in top condition.
The current owners purchased Rhythm & Blue in the Fall of 2010, and proceeded with major work to primarily her decks and superstructure. After several coring issues were attended to, all areas of the decks, cabin, flybridge and cockpit were finished in off-white Awl-Grip with buff non-skid, to new condition. All exterior teak was stripped and is finished in gloss varnish annually. Other projects included a new custom radar mast, an additional cockpit hatch for better access to the running gear, and the re-configuring of the engine hatch, including electric hydraulic supports.
Rhythm & Bluereceives big compliments wherever she travels. She is the optimum example of the Down East Yacht.
