On just her second owners, this shoal draft version of the popular Sabre 42 has been nicely upgraded including a recent genoa and much of the electronics. She has been lightly used with most of her cruising being along the coast of Maine and then out of the water covered over for 8-9 months each year.
Accommodations for up to seven in an exquisitely crafted full oiled teak interior with a varnished teak and holly sole. The Sabre 42 is well noted for its abundance of natural light and ventilation with four large fixed ports, twelve opening ports, eight hatches and four dorade vents. Artificial light is equally generous with new swivel style reading lamps at all berth/settees as well as a number of overhead lamps in work spaces.
Starting forward is the private Forward Stateroom featuring a V-berth with filler below which there is storage in drawers and drop face lockers. Further forward there is some bin type storage below the berth. Above the berth the hull is lined with Cyprus ceilings and there are full length storage shelves. Aft of the starboard V is a bureau with drawers and a hanging locker. Opposite is the Private Forward Head with manual W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank, vanity with stainless sink H&C pressure water and storage. There is an ensuite shower arrangement which drains to a separate sump.
Next aft is the spacious Main Salon featuring an L-settee to port and straight settee to starboard below which there is some storage. There is also storage behind the seat backs and in lockers and shelves above the seat backs. The port settee pulls out to make a double berth. Dining is from a large teak table that will comfortably handle 6-8 and stores against the forward bulkhead when not in use.
Next aft to starboard is the aft facing Navigation Station which includes a flip top type chart table, drawers for storage, the yacht's electrical distribution panels and some electronics. Just aft of this is the Aft Head featuring a VacuFlush Head (2006), separate shower compartment with separate sump, vanity with stainless sink with pressure H&C water and plenty of storage.
Opposite to port is the U-shaped Galley featuring expansive white Formica counter tops, double basin stainless steel sink with pressure H&C water & manual fresh and manual salt water pumps. There is a large "icebox" fitted with Seafrost engine driven refrigeration providing both freezer and refrigeration capacity (using R13 and will have to be converted). Cooking is done from the 3 burner gimballed CNG stove with oven.
Aft of the Galley is the private Aft Stateroom with queen sized berth, bureau and hanging locker and underdeck lockers. On C/L is private access to the aft head.

Hand laminated fiberglass hull with end grain balsa coring, and vinylester resin in the exterior laminates for superior osmotic blister resistence. The hull is finished in her original white gel-coat in excellent condition with a blue cove stripe and a custom blue/white blue boot top. The bottom was stripped and barrier coated in 2003 and has been finished with blue ablative anti fouling since that time.
The almost 9' long T-shaped cockpit has a large sail locker to starboard and lazarettes aft. Wide side decks with double stainless steel stanchions and lifelines allow easy access forward and aft. Teak toe rails brow and grab rails finished with Cetol clear provide attractive accents.
"The Sabre 42 is the ultimate sailing yacht, blending stunning elegance, contemporary styling and sailing ease. Function is brilliantly united with form in her design. Her list of credentials includes nomination in 1987 as Sailing World magazine's Boat of the Year for her size range.
Contributing to the Sabre 42's handling ease is a strong well balanced rig."
This particular Sabre 42 has had a number of recent upgrades and is ready to head out sailing under new owners.
