"Figaro" is a short masted cruising version of a Contessa 35, designed by Doug Peterson, built by Jeremy Rodgers in Lymington, England to stringent standards enforced after the disastrous Fastnet Regatta of 1979. She has been built to withstand the North Sea, and has been sailed across the Atlantic and cruised the Bahamas.
Current owner raced her inshore and offshore with many upgrades since 2006: repowered 2006, standing rigging 2006-2011, replaced fuel tank with new bottom drain 2006, 2 additional cockpit winches and one mast winch, dual track forestay, rigid boomvang, whisker pole, spinnaker pole, 4 new house batteries 2014 and 1 AGM for starting duty, battery charger, galvanic isolator. 2007-2009: Raymarine chartplotter A-60, Auto Pilot, 12v computer, passive AIS system, Radio-CD player and cockpit speakers, original functional Koden Radar, LED Tricolor mast lights. 2007 Force 1 three burner stove and broiler, Dometic refrigerator.
