Originally constructed as a centerboard boat, Cookie Monster Too underwent an extensive refit that included the modification of her keel to a shoal draft design. The mid-ship cabin sole was removed, fuel tanks reconditioned, water tanks replaced, and the entire garboard and bilge reinforced with multiple transverse layers of FRP. The foam cored transverse floors were fitted across the full span of the hull and main bulkheads were extended for additional strength.
The deck is a fiberglass sandwich construction originally with a teak overlay. The teak overlay was removed and the deck inspected and repaired where necessary with closed cell foam inserts vacuum bagged into the fiberglass. Stanchions and deck fittings were reinforced, the decks faired, and painted with Awlgrip. Nonskid Treadmaster was then affixed and epoxied to the side decks to maximize secure footing at sea. New teak cockpit soles, seats, and aft deck were installed without screws.
