Originally designed as a “Tradewinds Cutter” this well-known full keel, cutter rigged offshore design subsequently became known as the “Noon Ocean 34”. In keeping with Offshore sensibility the hull was massively built by Columbia Shipyards, N Vancouver of hand laid GRP with Airex core and the hull and deck are laminated together as one unit making a very seaworthy vessel. LEV is powered with a smooth running Yanmar 3JH3E – 40hp diesel driving a three blade Campbell Sailor prop and cruises very economically at 6kn with a top of 7kn. Her bow thruster makes maneuvering and docking a breeze. The Original owners fitted her out and maintained her to the highest standards throughout for their adventure of a lifetime, sailing 29.742 nautical miles down the west coast of Canada and the USA to Mexico, across the Pacific to Australia, down to Tasmania then North through Micronesia to the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Borneo, and on to Malaysia. Fitted with in mast mainsail furling and headsail furler she is a proven easily handled, comfortable and safe offshore cruiser and the level of quality equipment on board is extraordinary. The present Japanese owners have kept LEV on the West Coast of Malaysia visiting her as a holiday home and sailing regularly between Penang and Langkawi only.
