One of 2 58' Fleur de Lys yachts built by Dagless Ltd. She has had a major rebuild in present ownership which included a new deck and superstructure, new interior, engine rebuilds, all new systems and a lot of work to the hull structure. She is now in top class condition and ready to go. Three separate sleeping cabins and two heads, deck saloon and lower snug saloon. Twin generators, original Lister 100hp diesels rebuilt. Designed by J. Francis Jones and built by Dagless Ltd, this Fleur de Lys 58' was one of only two built. Bought by the present owner approximately 15 years ago in a sorry state, she has undergone a major rebuild in which every part of the yacht has been inspected, repaired or replaced. The whole superstructure and deck were removed and the hull was stripped entirely of paint and sheathing externally. This allowed full access to the structure and systems of the boat meaning any necessary repair work could be seen and dealt with. The interior has also been replaced in its entirety removing all the old and rather dated interior, all this work carried out by a member of Guild of Master Craftsmen and documented in an extensive magazine article.
The engines were rebuilt, the electrical and plumbing systems replaced, tanks repaired as necessary, complete new decks and superstructure, repairs to hull planking and framing as well as complete new cosmetics inside and out.
This yacht is now as good as she was when new and is absolutely ready to move aboard and use as a cruising home. Everything has been taken care of, not just the cosmetics and parts that can be seen, but also the important areas that often get overlooked.

Planked in 1 7/16" Iroko on 4.5" x 2.5" sawn oak frames. Steamed Iroko intermediate timbers. Bronze screw fastened into the sawn frames and copper rivets in the steamed timbers.
Mixture of grown iroko floors and galvanised steel strap floors throughout the hull, fastened through the hog and planking with galvanised steel bolts.
External iron ballast keel of 2.5 tons fastened with hot dipped 1" iron keel bolts.
The original cascover sheathing was totally removed during the refit, any necessary work on the hull was done and the outside was then cascover sheathed again up to the waterline.
New deck, yacht laid in narrow teak planking, glued with epoxy to a marine plywood subdeck. The entire deck structure was new along with any deck beams that needed replacing at the time. All scrubbed teak margin boards and cover boards
Stainless steel stanchions and guard wires with a varnished teak capping rail all round. The aft deck is covered by a sheathed plywood canopy with canvas side curtains that can be erected in wet weather. This gives a totally enclosed and sheltered aft deck which vastly increases the useable area on the yacht.
Varnished teak centreline skylights on the foredeck over the lower saloon and galley and a forehatch over the forward cabin.
Heavy ships style mooring cleats and fairleads all finished in gloss white. Anchor windlass mounted on the centreline with hawse pipes through the deck for the chain.
Superstructure has been replaced entirely. The lower section is sheathed marine plywood finished in gloss white two pack paint. Aluminium framed windows all round with an all over cover for protection.
The wheelhouse is of solid varnished mahogany. Both wheelhouse roof and coachroof are sheathed marine plywood finished with deck paint.
The original open backed wheelhouse has been replaced with a very comfortable design which has an overhanging roof at the aft end and seating
Pair of Rootes Lister TS3 MG/R 3cyl diesels developing 100hp. Fitted from new but thoroughly overhauled in present ownership.
Hydraulic gearboxes with stainless shafts to 3 blade bronze propellers. A brand new set of props are aboard ready to be fitted.
The exhaust system was upgraded during the refit and is now a stainless steel type designed to reduce the external noise of the engines which are often thought of as quite loud. This new exhaust system has eliminated the problem entirely.
Stern tubes, stern glands and shafts all replaced new in present ownership.
All new gauges with audible alarms to be fitted.
2 x 12Kva generators. One Mitsubishi which has been rebuilt and one Lombardini unit which was installed new in 2003 but with only 30hrs on the clock.
Fuel: 2 x 450 gallon mild steel tanks, one each side on the engine room
Water: 2 x 360 gallon mild steel tanks
1 stainless steel waste tank under the galley sole. Unused but in full working order.
During the refit when the deck was removed and access to the tanks very easy, any tank tops showing signs of corrosion were cut out and replaced, then all tanks painted thoroughly with anti corrosion paint.
6 x 12 volt batteries located in the engine room. Whole yacht works on 24 volt systems. Charging from new upgraded engine alternators or from the Victron battery charger when connected to shore power or the generator.
All wiring and electrical systems new in present ownership.
6 berths in three separate sleeping cabins including a large double owners state cabin aft.
Steps down from the wheelhouse into the deck saloon with a large L-shaped settee on the port side. Side board to starboard. All the soft furnishings, curtains and carpets have been chosen to compliment each other, the carpet has even been embossed with the Fleur de Lys logo. Seiki flat screen TV.
Centreline steps down to the lower saloon which is a delightfully cosy space just aft of the galley. Comfortable seating for 6 around a richly varnished mahogany table. Large side board to starboard provides storage as well as an ample sized drinks cabinet.
Doorway going forward into the galley which stretches the full breadth of the yacht. Forward of this is the guest cabin with two generous single berths and an en-suite heads compartment with shower and basin.
Going aft from the deck saloon is a centreline passage way with steps down. Access to the engine room on the starboard side with a small workshop space. Twin guest cabin to port with drawers and storage space.
Main heads compartment to starboard before going aft into the master cabin which is the full breadth of the stern. Large double berth to port with seating to starboard. Ample wardrobe space and storage and Seike flat screen TV.
Forward heads with an electric sea toilet. Porcelain hand basin with hot and cold water. Full height shower with a curtain and teak shower grating.
Aft heads has an electric sea toilet and hand basin with a full standing headroom shower.
All waste water from both heads, showers and basins can be directed straight overboard or into the waste tank depending on the circumstances.
The original configuration of the galley has been kept along with some original features such as the stainless sink and draining board, however all the units are new. Lots of storage space in various drawers, and cupboards.
Sink unit to starboard either drains into the waste tank or directly overboard. Pressurised hot and cold water.
