In 1914, Capt. Nat designed an open cockpit sailboat with a 12 ½’ waterline, available in both Gaff & Marconi rig, this boat was known as the Herreshoff H-12 1/2. In 1938 the folks in Fishers Island, New York asked Capt Nat for something a little more sea worthy so he modified his H-12 design by bringing the coamings inboard so the boat could heal further without shipping water. He also raised the aft deck, allowed the tiller to come over the transom as opposed to through the transom. He called this modification the Fisher’s Island Sound Bull’s Eye.
SILK PURSE was fully restored by Artisan Boatworks in 2005 and has been professionally maintained at the highest yacht standard since.
Marconi Rigged, Includes a trailer and Sunbrella cockpit cover.
